With the leather leggings, Longoria also wore a white blouse with a gold chain through the collar

On the show, the Mexican-American beauty talked about all the different hats she currently wears, from her burgeoning philanthropy on farms in Guatamala with multi-billionaire Warren Buffet’s son Howard to hawking the indoor skydiving ride at the nearby Universal Studios. Eva Longoria reveals why she’s getting her master’s degree

Eva Longoria is all kinds of fabulous as an actress and producer, but the 38-year-old is determined to continue evolving as she works to attain her masters degree in Chicano studies, telling “The Tonight Show” host Jay Leno that she’s definitely the overeager student.

“Right now I’m the old one in class. I wish I was this student then,” said Longoria, who confessed that she now makes sure to read ahead for class. Longoria – who earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from Texas A&M University-Kingsville – didn’t reveal the name of the school she’s currently attending (“It’s in California,” she said) but shared that the graduate school track has been a long one.

Eva Longoria Will Visit the Beckhams in London For Her Birthday

Eva Longoria was in NYC yesterday to talk about the finalists in Lay’s Do Us a Flavor contest, and she also opened up about her forays into TV production with the soon-to-air series Devious Maids and Ready For Love. Additionally, Eva’s the mastermind behind a new female-oriented steakhouse in Las Vegas, but all the work doesn’t mean she’s too busy to see her friends. To celebrate her upcoming 38th birthday on March 15, Eva’s heading to London for a reunion with her pal Victoria Beckham!

Eva Longoria wants to visit again Asturias

The outspoken artist travels annually to Spain to meet its charitable commitments but is looking forward to having more free time to return to Llongoria, the Asturian village of her ancestors.

The popular actress and former ‘Desperate Housewives’ star is closely linked to the country of her origin, where it travels annually to attend charity events and also in the left view by tourism on several occasions. Despite her busy work schedule and several commitments leave little time for leisure, the artist is short and to plan visits to Spain to enjoy the depth of a particular place, an idea that could soon materialize in a new guest appearance in Asturias .

“I love to go to Spain every year to appear in the Global Gift Gala in Marbella[initiative to raise money for her charitable foundation], and of course I will not miss the event this year. So I will be in Marbella if I can, try to visit other places. Whenever I try to watch a city or a different area of the country, but as is so great I plan thoroughly. want to return to Asturias, the town where I found my origins, but is so far and I’m so busy organizing the trip very well. But surely that will, ” she told BANG Showbiz agency.

Given the heavy workload has taken since the end of the series that catapulted her to fame, the Asturian visit Eva Longoria may be delayed longer than expected. The interpreter must combine all of its obligations to the organization of the inauguration ceremony of President of the United States , a demanding work she must lead and, while making a great honor, it also produces some nervousness.

“Yes, I’m quite nervous being a co-director of the endowment committee, because this will be the first event of its kind not only going to organize, but to which I will also attend. But I am convinced that it will be a wonderful and very significant investment for U.S. society, ” she added.

The charismatic star presided last Saturday in London the Noble Gift Gala, an event that belongs to the same party solidarity movement that brought Marbella and numerous celebrities like will.i.am-leader of the group The Black Eyed Peas – the former Spice Girl Melanie Brown or model Sylvie Van der Vaart, among many others. Besides honoring various representatives from the world of philanthropy, the ceremony included an auction which raised thousands of dollars to benefit her foundation, The Foundation Eva Longoria and other local associations to combat childhood cancer: Caudwell Children and Fight For Life.

Eva Longoria loves London pubs

Eva Longoria loves coming to London to visit the city’s pubs. The former ‘Desperate Housewives’ actress is a big fan of traditional British drinking establishments and when she’s in the UK she tries to find time to have a couple of pints of beer.

Speaking at The Noble Gift Gala 2012, which was held at the ME Hotel in London on Saturday night (10.12.12), Eva told BANG Showbiz: ”I love being in London, even though normally I have busy schedules that don’t allow me to enjoy the city that much. But sometimes I think of jumping out of the car and sitting in a pub for a while. Unfortunately, I came here to work and it’s been pretty busy so far.”

The event was hosted to raise funds in support of three charities, The Eva Longoria Foundation, Fight for Life and Caudwell Children, and Eva went to visit the University College Hospital to see the work Fight For Life is doing to help children battling cancer. The screen beauty admits the visit was a humbling experience and she was so impressed by the bravery shown by the kids who are battling to get well.

Eva revealed: ”We’re raising money for Fight For Life, which is going to help a lot of children. We went to the University College Hospital and got to see the facilities and the new machine they purchased to facilitate radiotherapy treatments for children. That’s the main goal for this event, to keep on contributing on these causes in which we are all directly involved. We were talking to parents, siblings, doctors and everybody who are working really hard to improve the services to children with cancer.

”I just felt really humble when I visited the kids at the hospital. I was so impressed about how strong and resilient they are. I think they truly define what strength involves. Although they were happy to see me there, it was them who lifted my spirits. I could feel that they are going through this family tragedy by sticking to each other, to their families and also with the support of the whole community. That’s why I wanted to do this event in London, because this country is really generous and supportive of charities. Here there’s a strong sense of community that is admirable.”

Other guests included will.i.am, Mel B – who acted as Mistress of Ceremony – Ashley Roberts and Stooshe. Black Eyed Peas star will.i.am was presented with the 2012 Noble Gift Humanitarian Award at the event for his outstanding contribution to charity. Amongst his philanthropic activities, will.i.am created his i.am.angel Foundation to provide after-school tutoring and scholarships for disadvantaged young people seeking to attend university through his i.am College Track Programme.

His foundation operates the i.am.Home Fund to help prevent struggling families in the United States from losing their homes, while earlier this year the musician made a major contribution to The Prince’s Trust to support technology and computer skill development initiatives in the UK

Eva Longoria: You don’t have to be rich to be a philanthropist

Eva Longoria may have found fame starring in Desperate Housewives but she’s since used her celebrity for incredible causes, in particular helping Latino women to build better futures for themselves via her charity, The Eva Longoria Foundation. As the stunning activist embarks on yet another fundraising initiative by throwing The Noble Gift Gala in London this weekend, Eva took the time to encourage all of us to get involved and stresses we don’t need to be a film star or have a huge bank balance to do our bit.

Speaking exclusively to Marie Claire online about her charity work she said: ‘One of the biggest myths is that you have to be rich to be a philanthropist, that’s not the case.

‘Most charities and foundations are run by volunteers – people may not be able to give money, but they can still give their time.’

Right now times are tougher than ever and Eva wants to ensure people remember to keep giving. She added: ‘With the world being where it is economically, it’s more important to do charity work than ever before.

‘And it’s important to be part of this fundraising initiative [The Noble Gift Gala] to make a difference to women and children around the world who need our help.’

Eva has managed to produce a star-studded guest list for this weekend’s gala event at the ME Hotel with the likes of will.i.am and Mel B attending.

‘We have a great line up of talented people who have offered their time to be with us,’ said Eva who returns to the gala for the third time. ‘We always call it a fun-raising event, we put the ‘fun’ back in fundraising.’

But at the very core of things will always be charity and Eva summed things up nicely adding: ‘What we try to do with Noble Gift Gala, is help a lot of local foundations making sure we’re doing remarkable things in the country where we’re fundraising.’

Eva Longoria ‘Moved to Tears’ by President Obama’s Election Victory

From Jay Z to Beyonce to Bruce Springsteen, President Obama had some serious star power come out for him on the campaign trail, but fervent supporter Eva Longoria was among the first to take to Twitter to markObama’s re-election victory, sharing a photo of her and friends’ celebration last night.

“I was moved to tears and I was so excited because we did work very hard for the campaign,” Longoria said today on “Good Morning America,” “But at the same time, it just showed that the middle class won and the super PACs didn’t get to buy the election, they didn’t get to buy America.”

The former “Desperate Housewives” star served as Obama’s campaign co-chair, campaigned with the president in Las Vegas, appeared in political ads for him, gave a speech at the Democratic National Convention, and kept her eye on reaching women and Hispanics.

“It was a huge night for a lot of people. For women …A huge night for the LGBT [community] that showed up for the president,” she said. “And of course it was a huge night for Latinos, and I was very happy to be a part of that.”

After working tirelessly on the campaign, Longoria said she was “honored” to be praised by the president for her efforts, but said she didn’t do it for the publicity.

“I didn’t do this as a celebrity; I think none of us did. We were doing it because we care deeply about this country. I think for me there was a very, very clear choice for the future that I want to see for this country and I did it as my civic duty,” she said.

Eva Longoria about Obama Campaign for Esquire

As campaign co-chairs go, Eva Longoria is not exactly, you know, John Sununu. But the Desperate Housewives star is no less dedicated, utterly biased, or occasionally controversial — her re-tweet of a follower calling Mitt Romney “a racist/misogynistic twat” during the second debate caused exactly the stir you would expect in this, the Twitter election. And as President Obama’s cavalcade of celebrities goes — this weekend alone featured Bruce, Stevie Wonder, Katy Perry, Pitbull, and, uh, Dave Matthews on the trail, plus dozens more on the airwaves (Will Ferrell included) — Longoria is certainly more than a (very) pretty face. She knows what she is talking about, and she is desperate for an Obama win, and she will do anything in her considerable power (or at least follower count) to get more people talking about it (or at least voting). So we caught up with the Woman We Love by phone on Friday to talk about the candidates and the issues and the human vagina, which is an issue now, too, apparently, as issues go. Oh, and sports.

ESQUIRE.COM: You were on the trail with the president in Vegas just now. How does he seem to you? Tired? Motivated? Some combination therein?

EVA LONGORIA: No, he’s not tired at all. He looks better now than he did about a year ago. He looked energized and really feeding off the energy of this amazing crowd that’s just fired-up and ready to go. That’s the kind of mode we’re in right now is voter turnout.

ESQ: Right. I noticed I’ve been getting fewer of those e-mails from the campaign, with the vague subject lines, about donations. Was that because of Sandy, or is there a point when fundraising efforts kind of shut down and give way to the full get-out-the-vote thing?

EL: Yeah, this is a different aspect of the campaign from fundraising and voter persuasion. We’re fully engaged in voter turnout and making sure everybody shows up. You know, we don’t want a repeat of the year 2000, when 537 votes determined the national election.

ESQ: I don’t think anybody does.

EL: Yeah, a clear winner in every state would be nice.

Eva Longoria on The Cover of Latina Magazine – November 2012

Hollywood power player Eva Longoria graces the November 2012 cover of Latina magazine. Eva speaks to Latina about being the cochair of President Barack Obama’s reelection campaign and her mission to educate Latinos on the president’s policies.

Switching gears to her TV projects, Eva shares on her transition from in front of the camera to behind it as an executive producer behind two of TV’s most highly anticipated shows, NBC’s Ready for Love and Lifetime’s Devious Maids. The issue hits newsstands, Flipboard and Nook newsstand on October 16th!

New Zealand catches Eva fever (+video)

The first thing Eva Longoria did when she touched down in New Zealand this morning was turn to Twitter for touristy tips. “Just landed in New Zealand! Sooo beautiful here! Can’t wait to see everybody for the launch of The Shopping Channel New Zealand!” she tweeted. She followed it up: “Now that I am here in New Zealand what must I see in Auckland? Suggestions Kiwis??” The 37-year-old former Desperate Housewives star flew to Auckland to help launch The Shopping Channel. She was due to arrive on Sunday but was dining with US President Barack Obama, part of her new role as co-chair of the president’s re-election campaign. At lunchtime today, press gathered at the Langham Hotel for an all-in press conference with the petite star (though some news journos were caught up out the front trying to get the scoop after a bus collided with a truck on the main road out the front). There were strict rules for the press pack- submit questions for approval (apparently so there was “no double-ups”) and a bus ride to a secret location (for security reasons). This might be fairly standard practise in America, but the tame New Zealand media were flummoxed by the seemingly cagey star treatment.

Interview: Eva Longoria’s not desperate or housewifely

Eva’s walking down New York’s Madison Avenue. I’m on Auckland’s North Shore. Eva’s wearing Carolina Herrera (or soon will be, as she’s heading to the designer’s store for a fitting). I’m wearing a striped T-shirt from Hallensteins and little else.

She’s awake and ready to talk about her lightning visit to New Zealand to plug a TV shopping channel. I’m sound asleep, cheerfully unaware that Eva Longoria’s management are incapable of calculating international time differences, so she’s calling me an hour earlier than agreed.

The interview doesn’t start terribly well, consisting mainly of me saying “Who?” and “Where are my pants?” and “Ow!” while stumbling into things. Longoria’s very nice about it. “You sound a mess,” she says. “I’ll call you back . . . ”
